Mark’s body was discovered yesterday by police after the former Glee star hanged himself near his LA home.

We have just lost another Glee actor. Mark Salling, who played Noah "Puck" Puckerman in the hit US television series, has been found dead at the age of 35. TMZ reports that his death is being considered a suicide, and the possible cause of death is hanging, though no official statement will be made until the actor’s family is notified, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which has also confirmed the news.

Salling's lawyer, Michael J. Proctor, confirmed the death of the actor, who was reportedly found in a field close to his home after a "welfare check" 911 call at 8.50am. TMZ reported that a family member reported Salling missing at 3am on Tuesday.

In a statement his family said: "Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistake and errors of judgement.

"He is survived by his mother and father, and brother. The Salling family appreciates the support they have been receiving and asks for their privacy to be respected."

Salling's child pornography case began in December 2015, when he was arrested after cops in Los Angeles took a battering ram to his home and busted him for hoarding "disturbing" images of prepubescent children. Investigators found he 'downloaded thousands of images of child pornography' between April and December 2015. The papers state he used software to mask his IP address, but twice showed some of his collection to an adult woman, who ultimately reported him to police.

Following the tip-off, Salling was arrested at his home in Sunland, California, where police found a cache of explicit images on his computer depicting children as young as 10 in sexual situations. They later discovered more than 50,000 photos and videos on his laptop and another 4,000 on a flash drive. The actor was originally facing a maximum sentence of 20 years behind bars after being charged with two counts of child pornography last year.
