"That was absolutely the low point of my career", says the actress.

The actress graces the December cover of Cosmopolitan U.K. (on newsstands Oct. 30), in which she speaks candidly about her public firing from the Transformers franchise. ‘That was absolutely the low point of my career. But without – “that thing” – I wouldn’t have learned as quickly as I did.

“All I had to do was apologise – and I refused. I was so self-righteous at 23, I couldn’t see [that] it was for the greater good. I really thought I was Joan of Arc.”

“It hurt me and a lot of other people,” she explained. “However, that darkness that descended caused enormous and brisk spiritual growth. Once I realized I [had] brought it on myself, it was an invaluable learning experience, looking back on it.”

The "low point" in her career came in 2009 when she was unceremoniously sacked from the cast of Transformers 3, only to be replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Her shock exit came about soon after Megan said of the film’s director, Michael Bay in an interview with Wonderland magazine, “He wants to create this insane, infamous madman reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is.”

In an interview with GQ in 2011, Bay explained that Steven Spielberg, one of the film’s executive producers, was the one who gave the order to fire Fox. “And you know, the Hitler thing. Steven said, ‘Fire her right now.’ ”

Now enjoying a quieter life, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star is focusing on her relationship with husband Beverly Hills 90210 actor Brian Austin Green and being a mom to their three kids Noah, Bodhi, and Journey. She also recently became the new face of luxury lingerie brand Fredrick’s of Hollywood.
