Jude Law is in negotiations to co-star with Blake Lively in the female spy thriller “The Rhythm Section.”
With Blake Lively aboard to star in the female-driven spy thriller The Rhythm Section, the movie is building the rest of its cast. And it is Jude Law who is in talks to join her. The movie is a contemporary adaptation of the first of Burnell’s “Stephanie Patrick” British series of four novels. Lively will play the titular heroine who, after the death of her family in an airplane crash on a flight that she was meant to be on, discovers the crash was not an accident. She then seeks to uncover the truth by adapting the identity of an assassin to track down those responsible.
Emmy winning director Reed Morano (The Handmaiden’s Tale) is set to helm the film with IM Global co-founder Stuart Ford serving as executive producer alongside Greg Shapiro and Burnell. Wilson and Broccoli will produce the project though Eon Productions. The project is targeting a fall start date for principal photography and will likely film in the U.S., the U.K., Ireland, Spain, and Switzerland.
Law has been a Hollywood mainstay since the early ’90s and has made a name for himself as one of Hollywood’s most reliable supporting actors. While his recent films have largely been hit or miss, Law, for the most part, picks his project very wisely. In addition to Sherlock Holmes, some of his most noteworthy films include Steven Spielberg’s A.I. Artificial Intelligence and Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator. Law has also been nominated for two Oscars in his career. While Lively’s filmography isn’t quite as prolific as her would-be co-star, she has demonstrated much talent over the years in films like The Town and The Shallows. It’ll be fun to see what Law and Lively can do together.
