The "Wonder Woman" star is in talks to take on a role in Ruin, a Justin Kurzel-directed drama.
With Wonder Woman 2 not set to begin shooting until later in 2018, Gadot is reportedly negotiating to star in the WWII drama Ruin, which will be ready to go before cameras in early 2018, as reported by Deadline. Ryan and Matt Firpo wrote the script, and Kurzel jumped aboard to direct in April. The story follows a former Nazi captain who anonymously travels the ruins of post-World War II Germany and seeks to atone for his crimes by hunting down the members of the SS Death Squad that once worked under him. It's not known which role Gal Gadot would play, but THR adds that Christian Bale is "sitting on the offer to play the captain," but that no negotiations have begun as yet.
Gal Gadot is, of course, known for playing the lead role in Wonder Woman and will return in the upcoming sequel to the DC Comics/Warner Bros. film. She first appeared in the role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and she’ll reprise the role in the upcoming Justice League film, which will hit theaters on November 17, 2017. She also appeared in the role of Gisele Yashar in several films of The Fast and the Furious franchise. Gadot recently appeared in the comedy Keeping Up with the Joneses with Zach Galifianakis, Jon Hamm and Isla Fisher. She is set to join the cast of Deeper, starring opposite Bradley Cooper. The film was written by Max Landis and will be directed by Kornel Mundruczo.
Justin Kurzel is known for directing the short film Blue Tongue and 2011’s Snowton. He’s also directed an episode of The Turning, as well as Macbeth, which was nominated for a British Independent Film Award for Best Director of a British Independent Film as well as the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2016, Kurzel directed the film Assassin’s Creed.
