Ben Affleck Bows Out of Netflix Thriller Triple Frontier

Ben Affleck has decided to part ways with the upcoming Netflix production Triple Frontier.
The action thriller set in the jungles of South America in a border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil (hence the title) has faced obstacles dating all the way back to when Kathryn Bigelow was on board to direct from a script by Mark Boal. Bigelow left the movie years ago with J.C. Chandor coming on to replace her. The film was originally set up at Paramount. After struggling for months to reduce the growing budget for the pic, the studio decided not to move forward on the project. Once Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum left, the film moved to Netflix, with Ben Affleck eyeing the film. The streaming giant will now look for a new cast. Affleck said he was leaving the project “to take some time to focus on his wellness and his family.”
The film will move forward without him; it is casting up quickly. Affleck reportedly still plans to show up for SDCC to promote this fall’s Justice League film, in which he again plays The Caped Crusader.
In March, Affleck revealed in an intimate Facebook post that he had completed rehab and was taking the necessary steps for a "positive recovery."
"I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront. I want to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be," he wrote. "I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step."
Since officially divorcing Jennifer Garner earlier this year, the actor has been spotted with his new girlfriend, Lindsay Shookus. The two have been snapped together on several dates.
