One year into office, President Thomas Kirkman juggles searching for the mastermind behind the attack on the Capitol Building, dealing with the day-to-day situations that take place at home and abroad, and helping a nation rebuild.

When "Speechless" returns for its second season this month, the DiMeo family are going to try to make some changes in their lives. In the second-season opener, the family make changes toward self-improvement, but then they chuck these plans and hit the road to find a special camp friend of JJ's who wants to give him his first kiss.

In the Season 2 premiere, "The Breakdown" gets a new boss, a tough business lady with big plans to bring the outdated news program into the 21st century. Meanwhile, Chuck has trouble adapting to Diana's idea for a new panel segment of screaming pundits.

The new season shifts the focus from the urban sprawl of Chicago to the rural, tree-lined islands of the Pacific Northwest, marking a new entry in the anthology series. The series will also continue to follow the devilish doing of the institution of the church.
