Christopher Nolan has made no secret of his love of James Bond movies.

One of the much speculated about elements of the 007 franchise is who will take the reins if Skyfall and Spectre director Sam Mendes decides not to do another one. Well, it sounds like Dark Knight Trilogy director Christopher Nolan is throwing his hat into the ring. It’s not something that’s happening just yet, but in a new interview, Nolan admitted he’s been tempted to do it and has actually had discussions about it.

“[I’m tempted to do] a Bond movie, definitely,” Nolan said to Playboy. “I’ve spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. You’d have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you. And they’re getting along very well.”the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it.”

With Daniel Craig now reportedly set to reprise his role as Bond in the next film, producers are also hoping to secure the singing services of Adele for the Bond 25 theme song. Adele’s title track for Skyfall, the most successful Bond film of all time, became a global hit single in 2012, and later won the singer an Oscar, a Grammy and a Golden Globe.

Nolan’s name has come up in speculation for directing a Bond movie before, but nothing has been confirmed regarding his potential involvement in the next installment, “Bond 25.” Nolan has a history with big-budget action films, including the aforementioned Batman films and “Inception.” Next up for the English director is Dunkirk, a WW2 film that revolves around the true story of the Dunkirk evacuation.

A synopsis of the film is as follows: "Allied soldiers from Britain, Belgium, Canada, and France are surrounded by the German Army on the beaches of Dunkirk and evacuated in Operation Dynamo between 26 May and 4 June 1940, during the early stages of the Second World War."

Dunkirk debuts in theaters on July 21st.
