Ever since the full trailer for Paul Feig’s upcoming all-female Ghostbusters reboot debuted online, strong opinions both for and against its sense of humor and presentation have been flying furiously back and forth.

Recently, the film Ghostbusters expected to release this summer has broke the record to become the film having most-disliked trailer of all time on Youtube.

With the era of Internet, audiences no longer need to wait for the trailers released in theaters, especially with blockbusters. Instead, all of them are available on the Internet, and most likely on Youtube. The function of like/dislike of Youtube let us show our personal feeling toward each video.

According to ScreenCrush, the first trailer of Ghostbusters, the reboot version of the movie of the same name released in 1984, has received 507,610 dislikes. Compared to any other movie's trailer, it is "ridiculously disliked".

By comparison, ScreenCrush points out that the trailer for last year’s Fantastic Four reboot has only 20,175 dislikes and a comedic disaster like Adam Sandler’s The Ridiculous Six only has 5,803 dislikes. If that’s not enough evidence of something fishy going on, take a look at the ratio of dislikes to views when you look at some of the other most disliked videos in the Top 100:

“Justin Bieber’s “Baby” (#1 on the list) has a whopping 6 million thumbs down votes, but that’s on 1.36 billion views for a 226:1 ratio of views to dislikes. Psy’s “Gangnam Style” video (#4 overall) has almost 1.5 million thumbs down on 2.5 billion views for a relatively high ratio of 1,666:1. The Ghostbusters trailer is remarkable in that it has 507,610 dislikes on just 28.7 million views. That’s a staggering 56:1, almost exactly four times the amount of dislikes per view of Bieber’s aforementioned most disliked video on all of YouTube.”

Since the cast of the film was announced in 2014, there have been a lot of negative opinions aiming at the movie. Fans of the original film say that the leading characters should not be female and others say the spirit of the film is no longer there.

One of the reasons why the film is that hatred is because the filmmakers replace the whole male cast to all-female one.

However, when the trailer was released, its poor sense of humor has become the main factor why it's disliked the most. Although there are two many dislikes, the trailer still has got more than 29 million views, on the account of Sony only, showing that the appeal of the film to the public is not small.

However, Ghostbusters 2016 is much anticipated by the audiences, therefore, those dislikes might not prove much how the film turns out in the future, especially when it is directed by Paul Feig, who also directed two other famous films Bridesmaids and Spy.

Remaining the storyline of the 1984 original film, the reboot follows the adventures of a paranormal researcher (Melissa McCarthy), a physicist (Kristen Wiig), a nuclear engineer (Kate McKinnon) and a subway worker (Leslie Jones) as they try to rid New York of ghosts that can possess humans. The film also stars Chris Hemsworth as Kevin, and many actors from the original film.

Ghostbusters will open in U.S. theaters on July 15th, 2016.
