Warner Bros. dropped the brand new trailer online, which is easily the most jam-packed one we have seen so far.

In the final trailer for Legendary’s Kong: Skull Island, Hiddleston’s James Conrad explains the dangers of traversing uncharted territory, rain, heat, disease-carrying flies, for a start. Once Conrad eventually agrees to take government official Bill Randa (John Goodman) and his crew to the island, they find even more dangers than that, like the gigantic King Kong (the biggest version of the character ever put on screen) and the vicious, mysterious “Skullcrawlers.”

Set in 1971, the film (and this trailer in particular) are well aware of the Vietnam parallels, as a bunch of  camo-clad Americans start dropping bombs and ammo on a jungle location they have no right to be. The use of The Animals’ 1965 single “We Gotta Get Out Of This Place,” once popular with American G.I.s during the Vietnam War, further underlines the comparison.

Kong: Skull Island is the second installment of Warner Bros' and Legendary Entertainment's MonsterVerse, although chronologically, it's set in the early 1970s, approximately four decades before the main events of 2014's Godzilla. Although Kong will be the one who initially antagonizes the human visiting his island (which also includes Samuel L. Jackson's Preston Packard, Corey Hawkins' Houston Brooks and Jiang Tian's Sam Ling), the main conflict will be between the ape and the Skullcrawlers, and some of the cast will soon start to think that maybe Kong is worth saving.

The year is 1973. Somewhere in our world, it is said that there exists a wondrous island unspoiled by man, a land shrouded in mystery, where myth runs wild. Uncharted and undiscovered. When the secretive organization known as Monarch identify this destination as the origin point for mysterious new superspecies, they mount an expedition to discover its secrets. What they find on Skull Island is an adventure beyond any human experience. An exotic paradise of wonders and terrors, where flora and fauna have fused together into an Eden of otherworldly jungle creatures.

As one group fights to escape and the other declares war on Kong, we discover that the mighty primate is at the center of a battle for dominion over the island, locked into a ‘survival of the fittest’ face-off with the terrifying apex predators responsible for wiping out his kin. Driven by vengeance, Kong will become nature’s fury, and fight to take his rightful place upon the throne of most powerful beast on the island, revealing the story of how Kong became King.

Kong: Skull Island is set for release on March 10th, 2017 with Jordan Vogt-Roberts directing a cast that includes Tom Hiddleston (High-Rise), Brie Larson (Room), John Goodman (10 Cloverfield Lane), John C. Reilly (The Lobster), Thomas Mann (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), Corey Hawkins (The Walking Dead), Toby Kebbell (Fantastic Four), Jason Mitchell (Straight Outta Compton), Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers: Age of Ultron), John Ortiz (Silver Linings Playbook) and Shea Whigham (Cop Car).
