The official Wonder Woman trailer has been released, showcasing Diana Prince leaving her home and embarking on a journey to the world of men.

Warner Brothers and DC Films have released a new trailer for Wonder Woman. Directed by Patty Jenkins, the film will show Diana’s life on the mystical island paradise of Themyscira, as well as her meeting with Steve Trevor before leaving her home to enter the throes of World War I. The movie stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince alongside Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen and Lucy Davis. Check out the new trailer for director Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, which hits theaters June 2, 2017, below.

The trailer features some beautiful shows of physical strength from the Wonder Woman character, as she blocks bullets with her bracelets, kicks a man in slow motion and smashes through a window with her shield.

Fans have called her action scenes "iconic" on Twitter, and enjoyed the trailer so much they caused it to trend on the platform.

The trio of new images, which were posted on the film's official Facebook page, highlight the power, courage and wonder of the Amazonian superhero. They deliver rich, eye-popping colors and fantastic action imagery that left even many of the DCU’s skeptics in the media and fandom impressed and hopeful.

These posters, combined with that trailer and what we already saw of Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman earlier this year, continue to prove the casting of Gal Gadot as the iconic hero was an inspired choice. She conveys the fierceness and warrior spirit of Wonder Woman coupled with her fascination and sense of uncertainty about the “modern world.”

Disney announced recently that the studio has set a new global record for itself by marking this year its biggest at the box office to date, and the year isn’t even over. Disney’s previous record in 2015 saw grosses of $5.84 billion with films like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Pixar’s Inside Out. As of now in 2016, Disney has already grossed $5.85 billion thanks in part to having four spots in the top 10 highest-grossing films of the year: Finding Dory at #1, Captain America: Civil War at #2, The Jungle Book at #4 and Zootopia at #6. This does not take into account the yet to be released Doctor Strange, Moana or Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
